Transfer journey

My transfer journey has been anything but traditional but I have found a community at UW that I know will last long after graduation. I have been lucky enough to be apart of RSO's that allowed me to make friends and demonstrate my skills as a student. I hope to help other transfer students find their home at UW here at the transfer center. I appreciate how the UW prioritizes giving students multiple opportunities to practice the knowledge and skills that are learned in the classroom!

Tips & encouragement

My best piece of advice to prospective UW students is to not do this transition alone. There are people and resources here to support you and there's no need to navigate this alone. Go out of your way to ask questions and you will find what you're looking for. I want to remind newly admitted students that it's okay to be overwhelmed by the magnitude of UW and all it has to offer. Go out of your way to talk with people you'll be surprised how many people are in your shoes!

Favorite place(s) on campus

I love studying in the Tateuchi East Asia Library it's such a calm atmosphere with minimal distractions. I also love the City Grind Espresso in the Henry Art Gallery, they have the best coffee and food on campus! I think everyone should check out Anderson Hall even if you don't have any classes in this building it was recently rebuilt and is beautiful. I love exploring buildings that I don't have classes in and appreciating the architecture.
