Aloha! I'm Amy Khoang, a senior at the UW Foster School of Business studying Marketing and Information Systems. I transferred to UW from Bellevue College and took a gap year before returning as a full-time student, which taught me that there is no perfect path to earning a degree. When I'm not in class, you can find me planning events as the Co VP of Event Marketing for Women in Network (WIN), working as a Program Assistant for the Foster School Alumni and Media Relations team, creating social media content for a local KBBQ restaurant, or sharing food reviews and recommendations on my personal food blog. I chose UW for the opportunities, but I stayed for the community and the people who helped me grow along the way. If you're thinking about transferring, don't be afraid to ask questions, get involved, and embrace your unique journey because it can become one of your greatest strengths.

My advice for current UW transfer students is if you find a community that you REALLY like and resonate with, stick to it. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and USE OFFICE HOURS if you're struggling in class and find a study buddy. It goes a long way.

The 4th or 5th floor of Founders hall is really nice to study at, or Odegaard library is a great place. If you want to grab a quick snack, check out the district market (the DM), right next to Founders hall, they have a lot of food, snacks, drinks, and a cafe inside. I also really like Orin's place located in Paccar hall, they have a really good sausage breakfast sandwich.
